“Ligeia” is a siren grunge band founded by NYC based musician Melanie Giselle (Intolerable Life/Noche Tras Noche/jazz vocalist). 

 

It was born from the fusion of grunge, punk and jazz, taking the most melodic aspects of all to create an ethereal world sustained by distortion. Ligeia sings about uncertainty, nostalgia, hybridity, death and the ocean.

Ligeia writes in English and in Spanish as she embodies her multicultural upbringing (New York/Uruguay/Argentina). Her debut single “Spit” was released in October 2024 along with a self-produced music video.

 

Ligeia’s debut self-titled album will be released on October 10th, 2025.
